Profile

Aurel received his Diploma in Economy from the University of Economics Bratislava. His career in ICT began in 1985 as leader of the sales and commercial departments of ISTERNET, Slovakia’s first Internet Service provider. In 2008, joined the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) where his research within Secan-Lab has been mainly focused on EU FP6/FP7/H2020 projects, including u-2010, Secricom, FREESIC, and REDIRNET. Aurel is also Task leader for all IPv6 related research at Secan-Lab, as well as dissemination manager for EU research projects. He is currently working on two EU projects - FLYSEC and TARGET – both of which address critical infrastructure protection, virtual reality, augment reality and artificial intelligence.
 
Since 2015, he has been a reporter for the ETSI “IPv6 Deployment in Safety & Emergency Sectors, IPv6-based Deployment Best Practices and Guidelines” document. He is also a founding member of IPv6 Forum Slovakia.

Research Interests

Communications Systems for Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR); testing research results with end users.
