BAPCO exhibition

International Validation Exercise -  Manchester, April 30, 2013

On April 30 during BAPCO 2013 the project held a user focused international workshop to validate findings from the project's earlier 6 national workshops. The workshop was a very well attended session with user representatives from

Czech Republic (2) Luxembourg (1) Slovakia (6) Spain (1) Sweden (1) UK (3) USA (2) PL(1)

Police, Fire, Crisis and Emergency management agencies at national, regional and local levels were represented, both in terms of managerial and operational roles, as well as agency experts in communications technologies. The aim of the exercise was to seek agreement or otherwise to a range of proposed solutions to identified multi-agency interoperability issues. You may recall the project had undertaken a range of documentary and user based research in 2012 to identify interoperability challenges; it then followed this research by running 6 national workshops across Europe to identify proposed solutions to these interoperability challenges – the UK event being held near Heathrow last October. The consolidated overview or summary of the 6 workshop proposals then formed the basis of the Manchester exercise.
