Participants shall discuss the role of Earth Observation technologies and Geoinformation Sciences in production of affordable geospatial data sets for good governance driven development and environmental sustainability. The WHEEL OF PROGRESS, with six spokes symbolizing the six community capitals- natural, physical, cultural, social, economic and human. At the core of the wheel is sound natural resources management and sustainable environment, which is the goal of the millennium. A nation’s capacity and capability for attaining the goal rests on the six assets. The Accra Conference will demonstrate the use of Remote Sensing and satellite image-based products supported by Communications Technology and Spatial Data Infrastructure for resolving the data shortage for Africa�s recovery, planning and development of the six capitals.
