Ilkka Lakaniemi is the Head of Global Political Dialogue and Initiatives at Nokia Siemens Networks and has worked for Nokia since 2000. Prior to Nokia, he worked as a Lecturer and Research Fellow/Associate at the University of Helsinki, Academy of Finland and the United Nations University, World Institute for Development Economics Research.
At Nokia Siemens Networks, Ilkka is in charge of managing corporate relations with international organizations and initiatives. He represents the company e.g. in the UN and the OECD. Ilkka is a Visiting Professor at the Helsinki School of Economics. He conducted post- graduate research in international economics at the University of California at Berkeley and at Stanford University in 1994-1996. Ilkka earned his Master’s degree (international economics and modern history) from the University of Helsinki in 1993.
