Profile

Amal Tawakuli is a PhD student at the SECAN-Lab since 2019. She received her MSc in Computer Science in 2011 from the University of Hull, UK. She graduated top of her class with distinction and was selected for the “Best Student” award. She then worked in industry in the UK as a software engineer before commencing her career in research. Her research profile includes data management, parallel & distributed computing and stream data processing. Her most recent research was a practical investigation into possible approaches for improving throughput and reducing latencies in big data frameworks.
